High Speed Steel Cold Saw Blades for Ferrous (Steel) Cutting Applications
Solid high speed steel (HSS) saw blades are
durable tools that meet the demands required by mass production.
Given your cutting application and machine make and model,
we can help you with the blade diameter, plate thickness, bore size
(arbor), pinhole pattern, number of teeth, pitch, and tooth style.
Our blades are manufactured from M-35 cobalt or M-2 high speed steel
and hardened to 63-66 Rockwell C. Ferrous cutting blades are designed
for low speed machines and therefore have to run at speeds under

Standard M-2 blades include a steam-treated oxide surface for reduced
friction and metal adhesion and wear-resistance. M-35 cobalt blades
are most often used on hard-to-cut metals. Special coatings are
commonly used for certain applications - such as Titanium Nitride (TiN)
for mild, medium, and hard steels, or Titanium Aluminium Nitride
(TiAlN) for stainless steel, nickel-based alloys, refractory stainless,
titanium, and cast iron - to enhance the low frictional properties
and to enable faster feed rates and cutting speeds. Various
tooth forms are available to suit specific cutting applications
(see below).
